Pope Francis said that politicians who attack homosexuals, gypsies and Jews remind him of Hitler. "It is no coincidence that the typical symbols of Nazism sometimes resurface," Francis said in a speech to participants at an international conference on criminal law. "And I must confess that when I hear a speech (from) someone responsible for order or a government, I think of Hitler's speeches in 1934, 1936," he commented, departing from his prepared text. «With the persecution of Jews, gypsies and people Chile Mobile Number List with homosexual tendencies, these actions are typical today (and) represent 'par excellence' a culture of garbage and hate. That happened in those days and today it is happening again," he noted. During the Nazi regime in Germany (1933-45) six million Jews were murdered and homosexuals and gypsies were deported to extermination camps. The Pope did not name any politician or country as the target of his criticism. In recent weeks, he has also denounced a resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe. On Wednesday, in impromptu remarks during his general audience, he said: “Today the habit of persecuting Jews is being revived. Brothers and sisters: this is neither humane nor Christian; Jews are our brothers and sisters and should not be persecuted! Do you understand it.
