For the third consecutive year, Tecnológico de Monterrey and its institutions (TecSalud, TecMilenio and SorteosTec), reaffirm their commitment to maintaining and ensuring respect for the human dignity of the entire Tec community by presenting their Diversity and Inclusion Report.
Salvador Alva, president of Tecnológico de Monterrey, pointed out that the institution is distinguished by its way of promoting change, placing the person at the center and the elements that trigger its flourishing.
He added that part of this work is the inclusion France Mobile Number List of each and everyone who is part of the Tec community. "We are aware that there is still much to do, but we also want to share our evolution, the steps we have taken and the initiatives that are developed in the institution to be a place where people feel represented and accompanied.”
This exercise in transparency reflects Tec de Monterrey's commitment to working in an inclusive society with equal opportunities. The report is divided into six areas: Gender equality, socioeconomic diversity, cultural diversity, people with disabilities, LGBT+ groups and generational diversity.
Some of the most representative achievements throughout this last year are:
Gender Equality: At the beginning of 2019, we signed 9 HeForShe commitments before UNWomen, in order to continue promoting equality and combating violence against women. In terms of work, 50% of our staff are women, of which 18% occupy a leadership position and 49% a middle management position. Additionally, we have 17 student groups dedicated to gender equality issues.
Socioeconomic Diversity: Currently, 46% of the professional population at Tecnológico de Monterrey has some type of scholarship, of which 236 students make up the sixth generation “Leaders of Tomorrow”, with a 100% scholarship. Likewise, in PrepaTec the figure is 43.6%; and 78.9% at Tecmilenio University.
Cultural Diversity: Tec de Monterrey has received a total of 2,329 temporary international students and 2,808 regular international students. There are 7 student groups dedicated to cultural diversity issues and we have 518 collaborators from indigenous peoples.
People with Disabilities: We were recognized by the Congruencia Movement in the category Inclusion of People with Disabilities (PwD) in the Value Chain. 251 collaborators have a disability, of which 16 are athletes who work in the sports and well-being area, as part of the agreement signed with the Mexican Paralympic Committee (COPAME).
LGBT+ Community: We have nine student groups nationwide, between high school and professional, that provide a sense of community, well-being and visibility to the sexual and gender diversity of the Institution. Their work consists of promoting actions and initiatives to end the prejudices that exist against the LGBT+ community.
Generational Diversity: Five different generations collaborate in our institutions: adults over 75 years of age (0.4%), Baby Boomers (5.9%), Generation X (47.6%), Millennials (42.3%) and Gen Z (3.8%), who day Every day different areas, projects and initiatives of the institution interact.
This report highlights the initiatives, advances, commitment and fight of the Tec Community to create a more just society, which works so that each person can develop with equal opportunities and in a safe space.
